Best bakery in town is right across from the JolliBee. Ice cold gatorade and the pastries are excellent!

I visited this place for a few days in 1981. At that time the main village had no electricity nor was there anything other than nipa huts and a dirt road ringing the island. The place was charming for its traditional way of life -- copra harvesting, fishing and coral scavanging were the main sources of income and employment. The island is encircled by a huge coral reef, and at night during low tides, the villagers would walk the exposed reef carrying sticks, flashlights and buckets. If anything moved, it was whapped, scooped up and dropped into the bucket. Afterwards a feast of rice with steamed mudskipper, eels, tiny crabs, and small fish was consumed by the community.

Sinulog 2006... Spending time relaxing with friends, but end up getting a rumble with the neighboring cottage... I could've beaten up an elder person, but thanks to my conscience i was able to held back... only to find out later on that my cheek was cut and bleeding... my anger spiked... thanks to my friends, they stopped me before i could go back to the beach and inflict injury to the person who had punch me... p.s. the group we got into trouble had a gun...
